The Creativity Research Group (CRG) explores how creative potential can be understood, developed, and activated in today’s work environments. Our research focuses on creativity in organizational contexts, ranging from individual cognitive processes, styles, and practices to team dynamics and organizational spaces and work environments.

By examining creativity in context of hybrid work and human-AI-collaboration, we investigate how technological change, new forms of work, and evolving organizational structures shape the conditions for creative work. Through this interdisciplinary lens, we contribute to advancing knowledge at the intersection of organizational behavior, human resources and innovation management.

Current Activities and Calls for Papers

EURAM 2026 (Kristiansand): Track ST06-08 Managing Creativity for Innovation

Over the last decades, scholars accumulated a vast body of knowledge how we can best attract, select, and develop creative people, deliberately manage creative processes, and create organisational work environments that nurture creativity. Yet, most of the existing knowledge relating to these issues is fragmented across multiple disciplines and mainly evolved in traditional workplaces. Today, organisational creativity faces new challenges linked to new technologies, ways of working, and forms of organising that make it necessary to advance our understanding of creativity both conceptually and empirically.

Journal of Business Economics (Special Collection): Navigating New Frontiers of Organizational Creativity in a Digital Economy

Artificial intelligence and new ways of working are transforming how creativity unfolds in organizations. This special collection explores the emerging frontiers of organizational creativity in the digital economy, focusing on how AI democratization and hybrid work reshape creative processes, roles, and environments. The call welcomes conceptual, empirical, and interdisciplinary contributions—particularly from business administration and economics, with links to psychology, sociology, and information systems. Both quantitative and qualitative research, as well as theory-building reviews, are encouraged.
